Oh nice! My irises aren't showing too much progress yet, let alone blooming!! Today is definitely a different look - haven't measured, but it's a lot. I think we most likely at the 17" range as well. Heavy wet stuff!! Hopefully the trees make it through the night without breakage, and that the storm ends so tomorrow I can get out there and free up some branches.

We got hit with snowmagedon. Snow up to the top of our front door from drifts. We don't dare open it. Snow up past the top of the front patio chairs that has to be removed before we can get to the front door in that direction.

My husband shoveled a path for the dog out to the yard multiple times. Every time he took the dog out he had to start again as it was all filled in.

On TV they kept showing areas that were less hit than ours. I guess they couldn't get to our area to show how bad it was.

My iris had some cute little fans poking up the day before the storm. I suspect they will all be OK. The trees and big bushes probably have alot of broken branches. My husband started whacking them with a pole first thing in the morning but the accumulation over night likely did alot of damage.

I hear you Mmm. We shoveled snow all day. Every couple hours so that it didn't get ahead of us. Up to the top of your front door though! Yikes! We had drifting too, but lucikly only on the fences and the side of the house. Our doors are pretty well protected. I'm guessing there will be lots of broken trees, but I'm sure most things will be okay. This snow was so sticky it was all over vertical surfaces. My kids had a grand time playing in it though, and we needed the moisture, so can't complain too much. Good luck shoveling out!

Yes, crazy day! Shoveled a bit off and on, but each time it was like we hadn't. Big drifts hanging off the roof over our front porch and over our bay window - knocked them off before they fell on someone! I'll get out as soon as I can tomorrow to unbury my boxwood bushes, as they got some of the drift avalanche on top of what was already on them. I think the trees may be ok since there aren't any leaves on them to catch as much snow - hope so anyway!

I didn't measure, and it would be difficult to be accurate anyway because of all the drifting, but has to be 2' at minimum now. News says we are supposed to get 5" or so overnight, but it has slowed down considerably so hoping for less. Think we are good on moisture for awhile!

I moved my car down to the end of the driveway to brush off the snow out in the cul-de-sac. Then I couldn't get it back up our slanted driveway because it couldn't get enough traction over the hump - even with all wheel drive! So husband shoveled about 3-4 ft behind it so I could drive back some more and get a running start. Yay, back in!
