Florida panhandle plants - please ID #3

A friend has moved into a house in the panhandle of Florida and wants to ID the plants growing there. Here is the third.

All the plants except the Gaillardia look chlorotic and thirsty.

Perhaps a very unhappy Osmanthus fragrans. Has your friend noticed a sweet perfume?

Agree it looks like Osmanthus fragrans. The cultural issue might be deep planting.

Or an overly high soil pH. That looks to be a factor also with the Ilex crenata photos (ID#4), which is looking decidedly chlorotic.

Might just be neglect/lack of water...?

It's been very, very dry here. March is usually like that. Judging from those photos, all the plants there are looking sad.

I will relay this information. He is not a plant person, but at least he cared enough to realize they looked sad.
