Neighbor passed away this year. Doesn't have much family so I visited the plot and put down seed just to make things nice/nicer. I don't expect much out of this spring seeding but will just overseed come Labor day. I'm thinking about putting some bubs down so something comes up annually

Which leads to the question. The soil is just straight up hard clay. Does bulbs have enough energy to emerge out of hard clay soil annually or I should not bother.
