Wow! The new countertops look amazing! Changing the shape and eliminating the two levels of the island is a BIG improvement. The backsplash was a good choice. Also, the floors look beautiful. Your photos show that you can make a huge impact even if you don’t replace your cabinets.

Your cabinets certainly did not need painting and what you did will stand the test of time better than if you had. You'll have to let us know how it works for you to have your sink front and center in your living space.

Thank you for the great comments and we think it turned out beautiful. Putting the island opened up the kitchen and made it look much bigger and more functional. Also, now we can seat 4 comfortably at the island. Love the sink and where it is too.

Waiting on my cream colored loveseat which will open up the TV area. Getting rid of burgundy leather sofa, which I liked, but finally getting something lighter. That area will open up too.

You have done a great job working with what you have. The floors have given you a GREAT platform should you choose to refresh the cabs in a few years.

It's amazing what a new counter top can do for a kitchen that looks dated. If you feel like painting out the doors/boxes, you will be happy to know the style you have paints out very handsomely.
