Not taking into account the debate if shadow storm is a quartzite or marble, my question is does it have a blotchy appearance, especially when near bright light.

Best I can describe is mine looks like it has hard water stains all over it. Is this normal for shadow storm? The builder and an employee of installer said yes but I have my doubts.

And FYI it already has many scratches, chips and etching marks so I’m assuming it is marble.

The only thing the salesperson mentioned was to be careful of stains from red products and suggested an additional sealer for $75. Of the choices I had from my builder she said this was normally an “upgrade” but they were offering as a standard selection.

I totally admit I knew nothing about different properties of stone countertops and was only interested in the color/look. But this is just 3 months old and looks ugly if it has any light on it. The salesperson is coming to look at it tomorrow. Any suggestions for a discussion?
