I sympathize with you. Those rooms are a challenge. As a caution, though, make sure there is room on either side of the bed for attendants to get to her if needed. Perhaps mount the TV on the wall with an articulating arm, perhaps in the corner in between the slider and the door where you have the dresser now, if the facility allows. Seems like the best place for the bed would be on the wall with all the outlets (to plug in lights or any equipment she may need down the line). It seems to me putting the bed at a diagonal wastes space. Put the chair in the corner by the a/c. That way, she can see the TV whether she is in the chair or in bed. The night stand can go to the left of the bed.

If she doesn't have much more clothing than that, and she can reach it, and it has an outlet, put the mini fridge in the closet. Or move the night stand to the right of the bed and put the fridge on the left and use the top of it as another night stand. (this is if you put the headboard on the wall with all the outlets)

Perhaps you could put a curtain over the unused door and still have something in front of it?

I can't tell from your photos, but definitely place the chair near the sliders, so she can sit and look outdoors. The bed can be more on the interior of the room. Make sure she has a lamp next to the chair if she likes to read. Once you have the furniture arranged, hang some art from her previous home in the room- have her choose the things she loves to look at.

Does your mom like quilts? A quilt hanging over door could add a homey touch.

as the floor plan and measurements of all furniture are not clear it is hard to offer solutions to your dilemma...however there have been many discussions like this and many of them involve setting the bed lengthwise along the wall...without any problem..which leaves more room for most of the other needs..like seating by the window ...even a second chair for visitors...and a small dining table w/ easy seating if that is needed...i would definitely return the oversized chair...for smaller ones and begin collecting colorful accessories..such as comfy decorative pillows...and throws where needed...next the walls can add lots of room for pictures of family ...or times of fond memories..if they will allow painting ..it helps to add colors she loves to at least one wall...if you are not creative find someone who is...to help you...this is the sort of thing that needs to be made cozy and homey more than “decorated”

To answer your question, 30+ years doing space planning lol! For the door you might ask if they would allow you to put a removable door sticker (like removable contact paper). Some pics below from Amazon. Just search “3D Door Sticker”. Or a quilt as already suggested.

Choosing swivel chairs will be a plus so they can rotate from the view to watch tv...after all furniture is placed, then locate the tv ..add a wall mount to support the tv...where it can be viewed from chairs or bed...two chairs will also accommodate tv viewing favorite shows with a friend....so comfortable chairs will be a plus...
