We are in the process of finishing our basement (mostly me so far) but we are at the point that where we need to decide on a few things before electrical get done.

We have been considering having a corner direct vent gas fireplace (as shown in photos). Part of my hesitation would be that it may be a little awkward with tv on adjacent wall and having 2 focal points.

The other option we were considering was doing a linear electric one below the TV area....esthetically would probably look better, but we do compromise on the heating ability a little.

Open to other layout ideas that I havent thought of either. Your feedback would be appreciated.
