forgot this..in the pic with the daffodils..I haven't clipped the arborescens hydrangeas or cleaned up the debris..look closely..you can see Elegans leaves and scapes..isn't hosta foliage tough?..the fallen leaves from trees crumble in your hand..but not old hosta foliage..

Good looking especially the dark hellebores. Mine are finally blooming well along with a white forsythia, daffodils, crocus and hyacinth. I have a few coral bells that are next to my patio window that never died back since they were shielded by a large pot. I didn't notice them until I picked up a lot of leaves. Maybe I should have left them buried since it's going down to the low 30's this week--but only for a day or so. Otherwise we are headed to the 60's later this week.

tough hosta scapes and foliage on March 31..#1 Elegans..#2 June..#3,4 Undulata Albomarginata coming up..along with a Buckeye seedling..our temperatures have dropped dramatically..freezes for the next 2 nights..😪

Spring freezes are awful. It will be 27 degrees tonight and tomorrow (freezing below 32) in my zone. This afternoon, I will be watering and covering plants, and well as clearing out my garden shed and filling it with leafed out Hosta. Good luck!

Good luck with the cold and freezing weather. Ice pellets are falling from the sky here and we had a dusting of snow last night. It's winter again. Of course my star magnolia began to bloom yesterday. I should have brought some daffodils to the office to enjoy.

We usually do except for last year when we had an extremely warm winter with almost no snow. Once it got a bit warmer in March, it kept getting warmer and warmer. Never had a freeze last spring. Usually here in the Cleveland area, we have a couple of freezes and days with below freezing temps. It's 30 outside now so when I get home I will put a pot over the coral bells and the one pip I think I have out there.
