Philodendron Selloum rot

Hey everyone!! I recently divided my philodendron selloum, it had 2 large wounds which I covered up with paraffin wax to prevent it from leaking sap and attracting insects. After about a week since i covered the wound, one of the leaves started rotting from the stem starting from where it connects to the trunk and falling, the leaf was still mostly green. Soon after, another leaf started doing the same a day later and falling.
