I think my clematis are less cold sensitive than my Tea roses, if that helps. Good luck!

Thanks. I am more worried about my clems than my roses. Also worry about my hydrangeas and Japanese maple which was starting to unfurl its leaves. Haven't been outside yet today. I spent most of the day yesterday bringing potted plants into my house and under my house. Had no time to bring in any more. I feel good about bringing in my potted clems though. Should be able to put them back out Sunday. I covered some of the ones in the ground with inverted pots and tubs. It'll be interesting to see if uncovered ones fare any differently.

My clems start budding up in January and February and are often exposed to late frosts. Although in the 50's during the day right now, we are routinely dipping into the mid to low 30's at night. The clems don't even blink, even when it occasionally drops below freezing!! And that includes the bunch that I grow in containers. Same with my JM's and hydrangeas. They can all tolerate cold temps well provided it is not a sudden sharp drop or a long lasting one.

Thanks. It will be very good to find they're tough. I kind of figured they are very hardy for the most part but I didn't know if new growth would be. Brought in my two Florida Seiboldii plants...happy they made it through the winter.

Congratulations! Mine apparently up and died last year during the growing season for no discernable reason :-( I continue to have issues with that specific variety although a new (last year) florida hybrid 'Taiga' is already going gangbusters!!
