Do you meant the sweet peas are inside the window? Or outside?

The flowers are on the outside of a large 5’ x 6’ window and are planted in the dirt not a window box, the idea being that you could see the flowers from both inside and outside the house. (I made a string trellis attached to the window for the sweet peas to climb up.)

where are you.. big city name ..

that close to a huge south facing window.. i might not be surprised by july or august.. reflected sun just doesnt cook the plants .. regardless of a film in the inside of a window ...

but that said ... you just try.. and see what happens ..

and to be clear.. i just dont think a film inside of the window will make any difference ...

btw ... what grew there last year.. or in previous years.. why was the spot available for this plan???

They should be fine :-)

Ken, sweet peas are cool season annuals and will be toast just about anywhere in July and August!! That's why they are started and planted so early in the season. They are usually over and done with come June.

Thanks for the replies. Think I’ll ditch the film and use a wood trellis. It‘ll cover a portion of the window’s surface and reduce the heat but still keep the flowers visible from inside Thanks again.
