I like to use the same color but different tones ( darker/or whiter). Blue would be nice, but may be one wall?

I like the all navy. you've got alot of light and the trim moulding would look great against the navy.

I would either keep it all one light color, or white on the bottom with a light color on the top. If you paint the bottom white, you can keep the white moldings above with a light wall color like you have currently. It adds a lot of interest in a subtle way, without adding artwork. I don't think a dark color on the walls works as well with your dark buffet, light fixture, and table.

I’d do one color for everything. And if I did that I think navy would be a bit too much. So that’s why I’d say to go with any other lighter color
The other thing I was thinking was maybe some wallpaper.

Blue, while pretty, is an appetite reducing color. I wouldn't use it in a dining room unless you and your guests are all dieting. Try the dove white on the chair rail and wainscot, and something like Navajo White on the top.

I like the one navy wall idea and the rest of the room a coordinating white. (Meaning a cool white, not a warm ivory).

All one color, and not blue.

The navy is beautiful, but I do see your point about my buffet.

It‘s really a matter of taste and how you want room to feel. If you decide on two shades, suggest a very subtle variation per second picture.

It may help to search dining rooms and you’ll start to see combinations and colors you are drawn to. A soft neutral with blue art could tie in with adjoining room (which should be considered). I’d let the art be the focal point with the elegance of the moulding be the backdrop.

I did finish the room and will post pictures. It was such a tough choice because I really like the all one color idea either the white dove or Silverplate, but in the end I went for White dove on the bottom and Silverplate on top. I really love it. I just need a different light fixture now. Something that gives it a wow factor.
