I am installing the following magnetic door stops around my house:

Instructions say to drill a 7/32'' pilot hole, install the anchors and then screw in the screws for the long part that attaches onto the baseboard.

I have done 2 so far and following the instructions, the anchors will not go into the holes (I've had to use a hammer from the start to get them into the baseboard and they barely can sit flush). My baseboards are fairly short, only ~3.25'' high.

Question: Do I need to drill a larger pilot hole (1/4'') and use the anchors? or can I just drill a pilot hole and not use the anchors and put the screws provided in this kit directly into the MDF? Since it's magnetic, I dont' want the door stop to pop off the baseboards.
