In A Spring Woodland Garden

last modified: 5 years ago

I've been tidying a highly native eastern deciduous forest woodland garden that was neglected for the last year. Today it was doing a big bloom with some of the spring ephemerals. The big showers right now are the non-native I think Jacob's Ladder, Polemonium caeruleum and Lunaria annua. Native Golden Ragwort, Celandine Poppy, Woodland Phlox and trilliums are joining in.

The Virginia Bluebells were there.

This is the direction I am aiming my own garden towards. Getting there. The thing is when gardening like this you are dealing in population dynamics and nature has to cooperate.
