somebody using Bluetooth headset and somebody listening to TV simultan

I am hard of hearing and I would like to be able to watch and listen to my television through my Bluetooth headset while another person can watch the same show at the same time through the television speakers. That is one thing. The next thing is I want to be able to watch the television through the Bluetooth headset while the television itself is muted so it doesn't bother oother people when I am watching TV alone. This was no problem on my old television because I had the AV out port on the television. I just took my Bluetooth transmitter onto the AV out port and we could do everything I mentioned above. Now with the new television it does not have the AV out port. It has a headset port that I can plug my Bluetooth transmitter into. The problem with that is that whenever something is plugged into the headset port it cuts off the sound to the television speakers. So I only have the option of listening to the television through the Bluetooth headset or through the television speakers. I can't do both at the same time. I bought a sound bar that I thought would fix the problem because they had an exemplary out port that I could plug my Bluetooth transmitter into. That did not help either because just like with the television set whenever the Bluetooth transmitter was plugged into the auxiliary out port, it shut off the sound to the speakers. I hope I have not confused people too much with this. I'm really hoping somebody on here will have an idea how to correct my problems.

What TV model do you have? My LG OLED allows Bluetooth with speakers on simultaneously. Haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure you could mute the speaker (if not a simple setup option could turn them off). Also I wonder if your newer TV already supports Bluetooth natively so plugging into the AUX (or AV or 'headset' port) is not necessary (which cuts off the other options).

Forgot to mention there are devices that can do this, e.g. support two bluetooth streams so you can use your sound bar and headphones simultaneously. Search on 'Bluetooth splitter' on Amazon

Thank you very much for your response. The television that I have right now is a Westinghouse wr58ux4019. It said on the website when I bought it that had Bluetooth, but once I got it all set up at home I came to find out it didn't. Anyway your idea of using a Bluetooth splitter might be what I need. If I can use the Bluetooth to operate both a Bluetooth speaker and the Bluetooth headset that should do what I need. The only problem is I will need the speaker to automatically pair when I turn the TV on. I have to be difficult. Sometimes during the day I will want to watch TV without the Bluetooth headset, just right from the speaker on the TV. I'm disabled and cannot press any buttons that have to do with pairing.

Thank you again and I will have to look into the Bluetooth splitter more to see how it works.

Please let us know what you learn and how it works out. Pairing should be 'sticky' - that is retain its setting once setup.

On Amazon.com I found a Bluetooth transmitter that will allow me to have my Bluetooth headset connected so I can hear and will allow the sound to come out of the sound bar at the same time. It is called the "oasis plus". It will also allow me to control the volume of my Bluetooth headset. Right now I am using Apple air pods and they do not meet to control the volume.

Thank you very much for your help with this matter. I don't think I would have figured it out if somebody hadn't suggested I look for a Bluetooth splitter.
