miles..your plants are gorgeous and your pics are great!..we have the same forecast..I can't possibly cover everything..sigh..good luck everyone..

So many things up and unfurling. Already had some frost damage a few weeks ago when I was out of town. Not looking forward to this. Although the weather app said 33 this morning and my outdoors thermometers were reading 41, so keeping my fingers crossed. I will cover only a few things - famous last words.

I will use a garbage can to cover the Liberty but I have too many others to cover and I don't have enough pots/garbage cans to cover them. I haven't had frost yet, but the forecast is for snow and cold temperatures for tomorrow evening through Thursday night. Today it's in the mid 60's. Originally the temps were going to be cold for 24 hours now it's for 72 plus hours. I hope they are wrong but the giant blob of cold area and precipitation headed this way doesn't look like it will miss me--it's just a matter of how long it will stay cold. The rain in Chicago today doesn't look bad but it's the large blob of snow now in Iowa that is the problem. Looks like Cleveland, Indianapolis, Columbus are all expecting the same freeze. Fingers crossed.

The late frosts are the worst. Hail is no good, too.

Wow miles, your Liberty and Heuchera look like mine. The Heuchera never died back, just like yours. I will cover what I can that’s really up like Liberty, Sagae, Paul’s Glory and Fire Island. The rest are pretty much pipping close to the ground surface. I hope those will be ok. Here the frost temps are only for a few hours each night. Hopefully that won’t be too bad.
