Kitchen sink length question

We currently have a small kitchen sink (~21 inch bowl width) and trying to find the largest bowl length that will fit in our cabinets: 27" outside measurement, 25.5" interior.

I asked a contractor for advice (he's not working on this project), he said we could fit up to 25.5". But when asking about a 25.5" sink our countertop installer says 25.5" will be too big to install and we should get a smaller sink.

They will use clips to install the sink. I have seen posts on this forum about using straps for installing sinks.

Would using straps allow us to have a sink that has the same measurements as the inside of our cabinets?

I hesitate to recommend an installation option that is not standard for the installer, or they might not be familiar with.
