Does it coordinate with the style of your home? If so, then go for it. I don’t think anyone would regret a well-made table that would get everyday use.

I know nothing about trends or style, but if/when I am lucky enough to find something that will make my heart happy for years to come, I never regret that decision.

I *love* this table! “I” would never get tired of it.

I heard a radio designer recently say “What coffee table defines you?”. I knew my answer! We have a coffee table that was cut down from a dining room table very much like the ones in your pictures. I *love* it! I loved it the first day and I will love it on my last day. It is “perfect” for me. I will design around this rather than get rid of it. :-)

I much prefer a rustic table than a table with a perfect smooth factory finish. Rustic can hide the normal wear and tear produced by a family over the years. Even better if the rustic finish is a wax one, so that any scratches can be "repaired".

I waited 2 years to find my dining room table and still love it 21 years later. It has a bit more of a formal design, but the top is made with reclaimed wood and has some character.

Our kitchen table is a picnic table, with benches, that my husband's grandfather made. It's honey colored and doesn't go with any of our other wood antiques in oak and walnut; the story carries its provinance.

Because somebody mentioned coffee tables- ours is a wooden foot locker inscribed with a Lieutenants' name and serial number. It's not military issued, it'd be something that lieutenant's family would have gifted to him for his duty assignment. We bought it when we were both Captains in the military. Turns out the Lt was from not too far where my husband grew up in Pennsylvania.

I think there’s a difference between a beautiful, handmade farmhouse table and one purchased from a furniture store. Something handmade will never go out of style it seems to me.

I don't follow styles and fads and I buy what I like. I happen to like mission arts and crafts style and that is the type of table that I have. If you like this table then go for it.

It’s a fad, that’s already played out, unless you made it yourself and you actually live in a farmhouse.

If it fits the style of your house and you love it, then go for it!

I never care about trends. I buy what I love too. I love Farmhouse tables as well. I agree with all the who recommending getting what you love.
