This is an exceptionally well done and beautifully appointed basement renovation. Does a basement living area require a separate HVAC system from the rest of the house?

Thank you so much! Our builder did a fabulous job on the the project. The majority of the HVAC is concealed in a separate mechanical room. We did not need a separate system for the lower level, although we did need a new electrical box for new circuit breakers as part of the renovation.
