Decorating Beds

I just changed out my bedding to a more summery look, a pretty white comforter and two matching shams. (I had a forest green comforter and dark green velvet pillows earlier.) My home is green and white.

But I am not entirely satisfied as it seems pretty flat. I do not like headboards and do not use them. When I read in bed, I simply prop the book against a pillow and read "sideways." I do not want multiple throw pillows though maybe three might be okay. My bed is a queen-sized one. It has two Duncan Phyfe nightstands, and there are two 1940s very leggy dressers across the room (with minimal drawers so I hang most of my clothes). I tend toward more of a minimalist look or, more accurately, what I think of as a Goldilocks level, that is, "just right" and no more.

I am hoping you will share what your bed looks like and why. Do you have a headboard? If so, what style and material? If not, do you do anything else? Do you have decorative pillows? If so, how many, what sizes, and what types?

I have a headboard plus throw pillows.
I have a headboard and nothing else.
I do not have a headboard but I do have throw/decorative pillows.
I have a lot of pillows; more are better.
I have more than one duvet, comforter or throw as I like "fat" beds.
I don't see my choice here; check my answer below for more details.
