It looks more like an iris of some sort, but since this picture came from the web and you can't get a better closer one, some sort of iris will have to do.

I wish I could get a better picture !

Looking for something similar, I’ll look at some irises

There are quite a lot of plants which would give you that look. But we’d need to know where you are located to be able to suggest which ones would be suitable for you.

Located in Austin, TX. Zone 8b!

It looks like a small NZ flax to me.

Could be flax or Anigozanthos. The landscape looks to be on the xeric side. So Ralph, how xeric is your landscape in Austin and how much sun is this perfect fit going to get?

I was going to suggest the Kangaroo Paw, Anigozanthos as a form possibility, but it may be an annual for you in 8b.

I have irrigation if needed , but intending to keep it semi low maintenance.

In the summer and spring months , the area will get about half the day of direct sun! In the winter this drops dramatically due to some shade from the house. Probably 3 hours or so !

It's not flax (phormium) and I seriously doubt anigozanthos. I grow both and the form is not correct for either. But exactly what the plant may be is really not all that relevant as with floral's notation, there are a number of plants that would offer a similar appearance.

IMO, it looks more like some sort of beardless iris than anything else.

Thank you ! Any recommendations on something with a similar appearance ?

Look up crocosmias. I haven't grown them myself but they look similar and should work in your zone...

Thank you !

Looks to be a form of dianella. A kind of flax looking plant tends take the shade which most of those other plants do as well, at least in the area where we are located. Hope this helps.

Lots of plants have this erect, narrow bladed, stemless habit so it should not be too difficult to find something similar that would work in your location. Visit your local independent garden center and see what they carry that would work and offer a similar appearance.

Doesn't look succulent, but resembles agave of slender type...

I just read there is a "smooth agave"-

As though in between that one and this one. :)

A visit to the Zilker Botanical Gardens is a worthwhile trip.
