I hate jute rugs for any space inside IMO only for a mat at the front door. get some Ruggables they are washable and they have tons of choice. BTW when asking this type of question you need to post pics of the spaces . it is also agood idea to make shoe removal a rule

I chose jute because we live on a very sandy dirt road and land, and it seems to catch the dirt as we come in and remove shoes. Everything is sandy. With the jute, I can roll it up and vacuum under without the actual rug holding too much dirt. We take off our shoes right inside the front door , of course, and vacuum regularly. It just still gets so dirty because of the environment. The pics of the space would be difficult because of how right the hallways are, but I will try. I have never seen Ruggables. I love the concept. Thank you for the suggestion!

Do you even need runners in all those hallways? Keep a rug in the front area to catch the dirt and leave the other halls bare.
