I love the fact that you went bold with the carpet and chair!!! Definitely keep them! I sense you want some crisp, fun decor but your living room is very traditional with the chair rail and dusty blue color? Perhaps a brighter color on the walls and some pops of color in some throw pillows will do the trick. If you're on a budget, check out some photography websites who can take your pictures and copy them to canvas for you for some attractive wall art. Good luck- you have a nice room to work with ;)

Can you provide more views of the living room ? The furniture you have looks great to begin with, perhaps use a larger area rug and don't place them on an angle.

It doesn't need THAT much help; a few tweaks, but I think you've made a good start. I very much like the monochromatic look you've got going, but a couple of things I notice right off the bat. You need a much bigger rug and not a zebra. The pattern fights with the chair. The gold mirror over the sofa disappears and is not a flattering shape for that space. I would replace it with art, perhaps three framed black and white photos, or maybe those pictures sitting on the chair. The lamp on the left could be a bit larger and a bit more dramatic, I think. Let me see what I can do.

Love the sofa, the mirror, the accent chair and the rug.

As Dy suggests, reposition the rug. If you need to use the ottoman for a coffee table you need a bigger tray.

Where that black picture is…a little distracting. I’d prefer to see nothing in that spot.

The two pix on the chair look as if they might work on either side of the mirror…at least the tone of the frames look compatible.

Way too much beige on the sofa. The pillow forms are worth something. Look on etsy.com for some pillows with more color, as kate suggests.

Not loving that corner plant, nor the little table and lamp. How about two floor lamps, instead?

Great ideas! I will find a larger rug and the black and white pictures above the sofa is intriguing...I will try both of these suggestions. What about drapery colors??

It it were my house, I would add a large, cream (think white) shag rug, keep the zebra chair, but add ikat pillow covers on the sofa pillows maybe in blue, yellow and light gray. Then, I would get a large piece of modern art that goes with the new pillow covers. Maybe a new side table (can't really see yours) in a metal and wood combination with a large (28") glass based lamp with a white drum shade. I agree you need a very large tray on your ottoman (maybe a silver one) I really like your basic pieces. I think you have good bones to work with. Good luck!

I love your zebra print and the mirror. Add a punch of color with pillows. Red, orange, yellow or chartreuse would add drama. Great leather chair!

I suggest you purchase a rug that has texture rather than an obvious pattern...... using a black and white pattern will only clash with the zebra print chairs and detract from the rest of the furnishings... You might consider purchasing some throw pillows with pattern or texture as well.....

I already have the zebra print pillows in my stash, I will try them. Thanks.

I would move the zebra chair in the entry way with the rug and move the other chair in its place. Adding similar accent colors will help meld both rooms together. I would add plants in colorful pots in the entry way or a tall plant.
