Can I identify with a "motherboard". Our first computer was from Gateway in 1999 (remember them) and my Dh and I were self taught (I blame the original teachers for my state of ignorance today). The computer seemed to blow up almost every other day. We'd call tech support and get the advice they give to people way more advanced then we were. We tried our darnedest to understand what they were telling us but we couldn't get the blasted thing to run properly for very long. Of course we always blamed ourselves. To make a month of self-flagellation short, they finally tired of torturing us and told us to take it to the store and get a new motherboard. We did, and guess what - that was the problem the whole time....................I hope your motherboard clears all your problems up too........Maryl

I am glad it is just your computer that is keeping you away though. I depend on my sons for computer work, but use my phone mostly these days

Brad , aren't you in IT ? Boy that must be the most frustrating thing ever for someone who is computer literate .

I work for mysell repairing and building computers. And yes it can be frustrating, especially when your own goes down due to a defective part and you keep having to send it back. This time they said they will actually replace rather than repair.

The company I sent my computer motherboard back to has it, but has not responded nor sent a new one. Quite frustrated. A 15+ year old computer is the pits. Sadly I think I need to file a complaint with the BBB.

That i8s ridiculous. I suppose you didn't use Paypal or your credit card so you could have some recourse. I hate it for you, Brad. My husband has built a couple of computers but HP built the ones we had had for too many years.I really hate that we will soon have to get new ones.
