Tips dying. Faint spider webs in one or two of the trees. Mites?

Northernbc, being in central Alberta as I am, we of course share a similarly harsh winter climate that is often difficult on a broad range of evergreens. What I'm seeing here I generally always experience even upon my established upright junipers. When the weather really warms up, new growth will flush and begin to fill in those somewhat bare spots. Just be sure the ground moisture level is good, but avoid unnecessary watering if not required, your plant otherwise looks quite well. Later, you can take a gloved hand and gently brush and snip out some of the dead bits to help tidy your specimen up.

FrozeBudd_z3/4 thanks so much. I just planted em last year and they looked so good through the winter. Glad to to hear its likely winter damage. The more I mess with it the worse it gets. So I'll leave it. Appreciate the help!

That last photo shows it pretty close to your structure- they get very wide as they age, so make sure you have room.

could we see a whole plant .. i wonder if they are planted too deep.. pull back the mulch ..

does your ground freeze.. if so.. you wouldnt water in winter ...

they need to be 6 to 8 feet from the house ...

were they end of season bargain plants??

how did you plant.. and water thru the growing season ...

i got rid of all mine.. due to snowload and ice storm issues ... they kept splaying .. and getting wider and uglier as the years went by ...
