I started some also about when you did. It's warm here so they've been outside about a week. They are finally putting on new growth.

One year I just threw some seeds on the ground in the fall, promptly forgot about them, and those plants are now huge. I'm thinking the no-effort method works best for me.

How are you fertilizing them? Plants started in the ground have plenty to eat (so to speak) while potting mixes are often sterile. Fish emulsion works great for seedlings in containers. I start fertilizing when they start growing their second set of true leaves.
