I think you need a coffee table to pull the room together and for when you have guests over. It is one thing to put the sofas into reclining mode for watching TV, but you don't usually recline for social gatherings, and you need somewhere to perch drinks, etc. You can always push the coffee table forward out of the way when you are in reclining mode.

Can you not think of a way to hide that big black face of the tv? It just seems to dominate the room. I think it spoils the effect.

I'd buy a large leather ottoman on casters, preferably with storage. You can add casters easily if you find an ottoman you love that doesn't have them. That way, you can scoot it out of the way easily for reclining the sofa :)

We have only had one large family party since the remodel, my husband set the TV to run family photos and everyone loved it, but we can set TV to show a still picture.

I think I would try to put your two book cases together instead of having them flank the doorway. Then move the piece from the corner out and over to where the book case is now. It will be appreciated more there.

I am guessing all furniture is arranged to see the tv, but the chair would be awesome in that corner by the fireplace....think how cozy and it would open up the flow in the room by having it not blocking the space by the love seat.

No pillows on the hearth.....people will be fine sitting there without it. Is there a pillow on the chair? Maybe it could go there.

A brown leather ottoman would be perfect in the area in front of the couch and will be quite a versatile piece for you to have. You have lots of straight lines already, so maybe try a circle???

Can't really tell what the area is behind the couch.....a sitting area? A piece of art on that wall would make a great statement in the whole area.

I would not place the throw across the top of the love seat.....drape it over one side instead.

If your husband uses the sofa the most, put the coffee table in front of the love seat. Yes move the chair next to the fireplace. Consider getting a new rug one that goes with the walls. the rug goes well with the furniture but doesn't really speak to the green.

You did a beautiful job on the remodel. Great color on the walls, hardwood floors, big picture window, mouldings, fireplace and mantle, rug.....all gorgeous. You must love it!
Abbyjean is right about getting some art on the blank wall.
I shouldn't mention, you didn't ask, but the two little vases with flowers on the floor on either side of the door look too small to be on the floor. Also the items on the sofa table, do you suppose you could group them all on a large tray rather than lining them up?
Is that a chair next to the love seat or a chaise lounge? I think an ottoman on wheels is a great solution. A big tray on it and you'll have a place to set drinks but you can push it out of hubby's way. Or you could get a couple of smaller pieces and group them. Moving one small lighter weight ottoman rather than a heavy one.
Would you take a picture of that area behind the sofa? I'm just curious about what that is back there facing the sofa table.

I can't move the piece in the corner, it holds all of hubby's electronics for TV and surround sound. The piece next to window is a chaise. Here is picture of blank wall area, husband wants new bookcases in corner, I am looking for a piano for empty wall. These chairs and table were in the corner by old fireplace.

Thank you for this picture. The swivel chairs by the FP but using the ceramic seat that's over there as a table between them. Perhaps a patterned throw pillow on the chairs too. That wall is a great spot for an upright piano, but you still may want some art on the wall over it, best to wait though. (You don't have too many pillows, sorry Mom)

Back to the ottoman....what do you think you'll do?!

Will start looking for a round, leather ottoman with wheels. Maybe I can find something my husband will approve of. I am really pushing my luck with him, already moved his recliner into his office.

Buy it with the option of returning, just in case. Do not let him know that, or you know that option will be used! LOL

Ok, I took your suggestions and rearranged a few things, while my husband was at the gym. Good thing I took pictures, because he came in a moved everything back. I maybe fighting a losing battle. What you y'all think ??

Coffee table or ottoman for sure! I'd also move the two oak barrister cabinets to the wall between the two swivel chairs, kind of like a reading "nook" feel. I don't think you need the one near the fireplace and grouping the two will make the room feel richer and more grounded. I love the piece to the left of the fireplace! Lovely space! Here's a couple photos for selling the coffee table to your husband! We all need a place to put our food and drinks down!

Oh, how funny! I can just see him huffy and puffing while he is doing it and muttering under his breath about your HOUZZ friends!!!

BUT I do like the chaise moved away from the couch even if he put the swivel chairs back! And until you get that ottoman........IF you get that ottoman, what about facing it more to the center of the room toward the fireplace/tv instead of parallel to the window. Still put the stool beside it. Have the back of it in that middle window area as there is floor space there for it and still room to walk in and out of the area, too. Place the throw that is across the top/back across the foot of it.

My honey's the same way. He can't stand change, maybe if you slowly move one piece at a time it'll grow on him.....or cry.

I am reading these comments to him tonight. He says to explain to you that he, our eighty pound dog, and our three year old granddaughter like to play on the floor. He likes the new arrangement on the sofa table. Funny guy. I do want you to see what a great job he did on my eighty dollar thrift store find, turned into his media cabinet. Before and after.

He and the dog can be trained to stay away from the new ottoman, but the granddaughter gets what she wants. You'll have to ask her next time she comes over, if she's older than 12 months.
I would certainly not burn his supper for at least 5 years after that job on the media cabinet. It's beautiful. Most people wouldn't have taken the time to strip it, they'd just put on another coat of paint. Well done.

I'm glad he likes the sofa table arrangement. That's good news.
