Since we don’t know where you’re located we can’t tell if the time of year was optimal. It would be best moved when dormant. But there’s no reason to suppose it won’t thrive, so long as it was well watered when moved and is not allowed to dry out as it reestablishes.

probably not an issue or survival ... its more an issue if it will make grapes ... this season ...

if its leafed out.. see if you can rig up shade for a week or two.. to reduce stress ...

location.. big city name.. usually helps us understand what it is going thru.. weather wise ... in my MI ... its still good transplant time.. i would suspect the further south you go.. it might be out of prime moving season ..

but whatever.. you do what you have to do.. when you have to do it ... water properly.. and hope for the best .. but crikey.. dont worry about it ....

10 years ago a friend was tearing out mature grape vines with 2-3" diameter trunks. I took four of them home because he was going to toss them. They were bare-rooted. I planted them immediately. It was late spring. They didn't do much that year, but they started growing a lot the next year and are now producing huge amounts of grapes each year. Bottomline: I think you'll be fine. Just make sure the soil doesn't dry out.

Thanks to all for your info.. the grape vine is growing slower but getting a good start .I think it will be good next year. I put them on a cattle panel trellis and reshaping all of them to it.

Yes these grapes dare growing too good but this last Year out of five vines there was maybe 10 small grape groups that I seen grow. I think was my prunning ..
