mine is V burkwoodii 'mohawk'

if the wind is blowing in the right direction .... you can smell it 100 feet away ...

its a full sun plant.. the second one is a bit sparse due to growing under that tree ... lacking sun.. and maybe some root competition on water ...

usually a decent length flower show in a cool spring.. but this MI spring.. mine got wiped out by a freeze.. the day after it opened ...

Awesome thanks everyone! I am definitely going to give the second a better home in my yard. It’s in between two trees with shade and still looks decent. I can’t imagine it’s potential in a better spot !

everyone has a prevailing wind ... different per season ... so go sit on your porch or patio right now.. and see.. over a week or so.. if you can determine such .. so you can plant it in a spot where when it is in spring bloom... it will drift to your.. as sheldon would say... your spot ...

if you simply have no option but to move it soon .. let us know.. we might be able to come up with some ideas how to best save it.. doing it in the wrong season ... there are times when you do what you hve to do ... but you must work witht he expectation.. that it might take a few years to get it back into shape ...

these arent rare nor very expensive ... price one out at a reasonable size... and then decide if it is worth the labor and time to mess with this one.. but you sound young.. and the labor probably isnt an issue ... but free is free ...

Yeah ken I am gonna move it soon being that the property will be sold soon. I’ve got a baby and another on the way so I am always home. I’ve got the time to baby it and sometimes a challenge is fun. I am putting in out near the back deck on the side closer to the door so we can smell it !
