Steve, I've never bleached a problem hosta and had it survive. I don't know what I would do in your circumstances.

Unless it’s treasured hosta, I would just pot as usual or let it go.......come on steve, are you looking for work while you wait for your hosta order? Something tells me you’re making work for yourself or are you under challenged?? :-)

Just editing the beds so they look better and fuller this year. I moved four other plants (1 big one). Moving good growers from pots to replace poor growers in the ground. So yes, any under performing Hosta is subject to the shovel. Good thing in this case as I don't think it would have survived. It still might not, but now its got a fighting chance. Its Hosta Carnival which I've heard can be finicky.

Actually steve, I have adopted your method of placing pots in the garden up side down with a label in the bottom hole so I can plan what’s going where. Big pots for large hostas and small / medium pots for small/ medium hostas.. I am also moving some under performers do the tree roots.
