Floribunda Rose - Doris Day

This is in a neglected section so it isn't able to perform its best. When I had it in the good location it grew huge and was very prolific. In my opinion this is a better yellow floribunda the Julia Child rose. Its color holds much better and the blooms maintain the same look throughout the year. Julia Child's blooms turn look ugly in the summer, flowers petals are deformed in the heat, but it does have a stronger fragrance though.

Kristine LeGault 8a pnw, yeah for some reasons Molineux didn't wow me that much yet, it did put out a nice first flush but now the flowers they are putting out are of low quality.

That really is a beautiful yellow.

If Molineaux doesn't start to dazzel me, Doris may be his replacement.

Wow !! I am a fan of yellow roses. Does Doris day fade to white like Julia Child? I saw Julia Child at rose park, and I was disappointed with its fading blooms, plus the scent was like cough syrup. Thanks for any info. on scent of Doris day.

strawchicago z5, Doris Day holds its color miles better than Julia Child, the last bloom shown in the video is the faded bloom. I really can't detect any fragrance on Doris Day, maybe just a very light fragrance.

GardeningTeenager, I would say Doris Day is pretty healthy in my yard, don't really have much problem with it.

Your Molineux is absolutely perfect !! It has the deep yellow and many petals .. Love it. How's the scent on Molineux? I don't mind light scent if it's pleasant, rather than harsh like Julia Child. Thanks for those awesome pics.

strawchicago z5, it has light tea scent, it shatters pretty fast though, max is 2 days

Amazing yellows!! And I really appreciate the fragrance info!! I love both your Molineux and Doris Day...but I like the yellow of Doris Day better!! Scrumptious!!
