My experience with cutting down too soon is generally no blooms the following Spring. You will still have the foliage come up. However, cutting or mowing them off several seasons in a row early can SOMEtimes make the plants not come up at all.

If you have more than you want, dig out the ones you don't want.

you can do whatever you want to your plants .. but as noted.. you arent going to remove them just by cutting back the leaves early ... thats a unicorn dream .. lol ..

its just a matter of hard work .. which you are hoping to avoid.. i presume.. lol ...

if you know anyone who might want such.. offer them that they can dig whatever they want from your garden ... a bit chancy letting other trod thru your garden ... but if you have a hate on for them ... let someone else do the heavy work ...
