Debra, the splotches might well be edema, the tissue should eventually dry out and turn brown. And you're right about the last picture, I have concerns as well, keep a close eye on it.

Bkay, I have never fertilized any hosta. I not sure what to use, how much to use.....can I use something as simple as Miracle Grow? I think a long time ago I fried a plant and never risked it again. What do you use?

I use Milorganite as that is purported to also keep the deer away.

I also thought it looked like cold damage and undernourishment. Iron is supposed to green things up. Maybe its an iron deficiency. You could always get your soil tested.
