You and your daughter should go through the whole home and put blue tape everywhere you see a problem. Then you should coach your daughter on the art of effective complaining in which she calmly points out all the problem areas and what she expects them do to fix it. Your daughter is not supposed to be the expert in fixing paint problems because that's why she hired the contractors; it's neither one of your responsibility to problem solve for the painters. But because they did such a crappy job you might have to be the problem solvers.

It doesn't appear they did anything to prep the walls and it doesn't look like they protected any of the floors and cabinets. Of course they should clean the linoleum such that they don't do further harm to the linoleum. They should clean all the cabinets such that they don't do further damage with their cleaner. They could sand and prime the uneven areas and repaint again but it'll probably require repainting the whole wall.

Based on the few pictures you provided this is not touch up but full repaint in some areas.

Yes, that is what I meant. She messaged the owner of the company yesterday with these photos and they said that they would come tomorrow and "fix it". It seems like the entire house is going to have to be sanded where the drips are and another coat to even it out. We don't care about any of the floors since they are being ripped out this week EXCEPT for the linoleum which they are keeping! It is an 1900 square foot house and the entire inside was painted. Won't that take days to do again? We will go around today and use the blue tape - thanks for that suggestion.

Side note: I'm really nervous because they are starting on the staircase tomorrow. They are painting it black with white spindles. They need to be sure and send a QUALITY and experienced person for that job - not this guy!!!

Latex paint on vinyl flooring can surely be removed with a remover like Lift-Off. Use a plastic scraper if need be. What finish of paint was used? Might be camera flash but the walls are looking shiny. Shiny finishes do highlight texture and imperfections (not excusing the poor paint job here, just pointing out a fact).

It is an eggshell finish. They said they were going to use Sherwin Williams but they used Behr Marquee.

Have you paid them? If you haven’t, don’t. The job is totally unacceptable. I would not let them “fix” it or continue. Insist that the owner of the business come to the house and see for himself. It all has to be done over and this gang is not capable.

That does not look like any eggshell finish I have ever seen. It actually looks more like satin. My daughter in law uses Behr Marquee all the time. It is not shiny like that. I would not pay them. Do not let them come back . I would hire someone else to come in and repaint, and use the proper eggshell paint. Its a terrible paint job, done by someone, who is not really a painter. Since its latex paint, wet it on the cabinets and scrub it off with a wash cloth. It will come off. Same with the floor, although, that big gob, I would use a plastic scraper on first, it will come off with most already gone, and minor scrubbing. I see places in the one picture, where he missed. These walls should have had two coats of paint, so how can he miss it twice. There are better painters out there, and just maybe, you could do a better job yourselves.

I would not let these bozos set foot on the property to 'fix' anything. Not even the doghouse.

Negotiate a settlement and find someone else.

The paint should easily come off the vinyl flooring. Soak with hot water & dish soap. Leave a sopping wet rag over it for a couple of hours. The sooner you do this the better--before the paint fully cures. Come back after a couple of hours and the paint should scrape off easily. Plastic scraper, fingernail...
