I bought a 3 flat last year and need some advise on colors/trim. The front was rebricked with blonde brick in the 60’s and the sides are the classic Chicago common brick.

Option 1: Would it look absolutely bonkers if I painted just the front bricks a whitish color, painted the windows black, and the stairs black. Main reason being is the side brick is in need of a lot of tuck pointing and brick replacement that will need to wait a few years as it’s going to cost well over 20grand

Option 2: Leave the brick alone and go with the design from fixer upper like the photos below. So paint windows that grayish color, doors leave black??? And stairs grayish????
