plan one. eliminate the bank of drawers sitting there by door. place dishwasher left of sink...make a small peninsula coming off wall , right of sink.....this should extend no more than half way across your 12 feet. You will gain a straight passage in from garage, beyond kitchen, without cutting through kitchen work zone. You will gain the dining situation without a garage door being part of the mix which is never good in a sole dining spot. You already have the french doors other side. that's enough.

Herbflavor, I’ve tried putting the peninsula on the side with the sink, and I agree it’s the most logical spot. It always feels really tight. Going to take another look in the planner. Thanks for the response (and the feedback about the garage door in the dining area. It felt weird to me, so it’s reassuring to hear it feels that way to others too).
