Stuck....now what

I swear I have no creative bone in my body, what would you suggest on the wall in between the windows? Console.... would it need to match the cocktail table, pictures, bookcase.....

Thanks in advance.

I think some sort of buffet table would look cute there!

I would move the coffee table a few inches closer to the sofa. I think a small club chair would look good there. It would be functional, too. Bring it close to the window so that it doesn't interfere with the dining chairs.

White pillows, a nice flowering plant and an open Bible on the table, take down the skinny vertical blinds, put up some plain colored curtains. Post an after pic.

I added similar coffee table because I couldn’t get proper orientation with your photo. So kind of use your imagination but I think this is better use of your space. Enjoy! Lots of good, budget friendly rugs out there to further personalize your home.

Make the window your focal point (unless the view is just awful). Lose the vertical blinds. Install full length blackout drapes that stack slim, close to off the window. Put the sofa facing the window, parallel to it. You can put a chair (recliner?) in the corner of question, with a small table/chair-side table for convenience, and a very interesting piece of art above it. Watch for traffic pattern(s). As others have said, the coffee table needs to be closer to the sofa, so people can put a drink or their reading material on it.

This is what we did in our last home. For the artwork, we used a marquetry "picture" made of different colored woods. And we did put down a shag rug (nod to age of the home) but in a Moroccan trellis pattern to keep it current. We also put a tufted storage bench in front of the window for extra seating without blocking the view.

Think pictures or plants would be a better idea. Plants would my your room look fresher and green

I would echo that I think the vertical blinds could be replace with drapes, even just in the living room if thats your preference. From your pic it looks as if your windows are the same height. but the vertical blinds make it look a bit odd because they are hung full window height in the living room and in the dining room the upper row of windows is showing above the blinds. It just kind of throws it off.

How about a tall, not too bushy, plant in the space. Real, not fake, please.

We would suggest adding either working or stationary panels. It would soften the window's edge and bring more color to your living room.

What about just adding a nice piece of artwork to that space? We think that might just work the best. Here are just a few images of artwork we have placed in clients homes.
