You don’t mention natural or artificial lighting but illumination is a critical factor for a basement. We incorporated ample lights on dimmers into our design for a conventional basement. Then used color for accent throughout the space. Following is a video:

Sorry but the light is too peachy. The darker matches the countertop wood/finish AND the recycled wood. The peach will look weird up against the dark gray and the ORANGE counter.

I like the light. It reminds me of what we have in our basement. Shaw weathered oak. Would your husband be willing to stain the bar darker?

That’s a nice color ! I think he’s done with the staining but actually it may darken over time I’ll ask him ! What color walls did you do? I’m looking at some different sherwin Williams greige like repose gray, collonade gray, and agreeable gray

The lighter floor color will always look better in a basement .. as to the bar...for continuity in the space...it seems like a light golden white wash would be better than a dark stain...even a little sanding on the raw wood .. lessening the rough finish may work .. unless you are leaning rustic on your decor .. then the darker floor is a better match

Thanks for all your help, not really sure what we are doing LOL my husband basically is doing the bar part since he’s building from scratch and it’s his hobby , he is doing reddish brick on the wall behind bar around a tv

Sounds like hubbies influence is leaning pretty heavily on rustic finishes ....the darker floor color will be safest...and tho’ gray is where everyone is going these days i would do a little warmer wall color....thing like how much natural light...what kind of furnishings...is your decor color pallette light and monochromatic or darker and more man cave?...how high the ceilings are ...should all be considered when selecting the wall color...

Yea the grey I was looking at is more of a gray beige mix something warm for the walls bc not a lot of light and lower ceilings being a basement , I don’t want the man cave look bc I don’t want the basement being dark so idk

I guess I can look at other floor options not really loving the dark one in picture

Worldly gray looks perfect ... it doesn’t make a definitive statement color-wise ...is ceiling the same?

Oh good!...After further searching ..worldly gray may be a little dark...you can type that color in internet search..get lots of pics

Just learned if you search the floors or paint colors on instagram hashtags there’s way more photos of peoples homes , pretty cool
