You might try wrapping the threads with plumbers tape which is typically used to prevent leakage of sink or toilet water supply lines.

I used to keep automobile and bicycle intertubes, and would occasionally use the material as gaskets.

@wdccruise White Teflon tape is a good idea. It is meant for metal pipe but I am guessing it could work here. I ordered some.

I want to try a pressure reducer. Does anyone have a guess about the pressure (PSI) that a 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" soaker hose would expect to receive? I am guessing it will be under 10 PSI, and most garden hoses are delivering more than 30 PSI.

As cruise suggests above, cut a flat rubber gasket out of an old bicycle inner tube and punch a hole in the center. Or, go to WalMart and buy a new inner tube to cut up. They're about $5.

@HU-867564120 I think the Teflon tape serves the same purpose as a washer, and it is less work to apply the tape than it is to custom cut a gasket/washer.

Can you take out that flow disc? If not, I have thin washers. Just choose "thin". Thin Washers

I will bookmark your store for future soaker hose purchases. I have no way to know what the quality of your 1/2 price hose is versus Taisia, which has great product reviews on Amazon.

We have sold on Amazon. Amazon is NOT seller friendly, so we quit. We have been selling soaker hose for over 20 years. The washers are not available on Amazon.

If I am trying to soak a 50-foot hedge of Photinia, what would you recommend for the width of the soaker hose? How many PSI would feed soaker hoses that are 3/8, 1/2, and 5/8 diameter? I assume I need to buy a pressure reducer if I am feeding the hose from a garden hose running near 50 psi?

Your fixture #109 580 Female Hose End is a "one size fits all" for both 1/2 and 3/8 soaker hose?

3/8" soaker hose should be good to 100', ours is. 10 -25 psi is fine. My #109 will not fit 1/2", if fits my .580 soaker hose, which is close to 3/8". My .700 is for 1/2".

@goldie0827 I am confused on what #109 fits. Use the following soaker hose dimensions:

3/8 = 0.375 inches

1/2 = 0.500 inches

0.580 fall in between 1/2 and 5/8

5/8 = 0.625 inches

When you say 0.580 soaker hose, that is closer to 1/2 or 5/8 than it is to 3/8. I need to attach a 3/8 inch soaker hose to a standard garden hose. What do I buy for that?

Westes, my 109 fitting goes on my .580 soaker hose. Hose goes in one end (compression), the other end is female garden hose, so it screws on to a faucet or garden hose.
