DIY Window Trim Suggestions

Hi,
I’m looking for suggestions and thoughts on trimming out our living room windows. I’ve been looking at a few DIY tutorials for simple farmhouse style window trims.

I’m unsure if our windows could be trimmed out that way. We are trying to work with the bottom apron that is currently on the window. The wall spacing in between each window is 6 inches wide. But on the very ends of the windows, there is only about 2 inches to work with due to current apron/sill.

Also, our apron is tapered off. Suggestions on ways to go?

The sills would need to extended or replaced to accommodate the wider trim needed on the ends to complete the look and the apron replaced As it is to short and would not go with the style. I think some window coverings/curtains would help with look you have now. When I did my house I made some mocks ups and tacked them on and altered them until I was happy.

I would take the bottom trim off, paint your frames to match your trim and square it all off.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I too was thinking the apron would need to be replaced in order for it to all flow.
