I'm attaching satellite photos.

The red lines are 9 raised beds already installed. They are 4'x10' and 2' deep. They are for low growing vege and some dedicated June bearing strawberry beds. We have the beds running parallel with the fence because initially we wanted to maximize land space. Our house in the photo faces due south. The beds long side is running 150degrees south southeast.

I'm planning the next row back which I want to do tall vege, mostly tomatoes, cucumbers, peas and beans on string/plastic clip trellises.

The attached photos have blue lines in them. I am wondering which option seems best considering the relatively permanent nature of the beds in red.

Looking back I'd probably redo the layout to get all my beds facing due south but what is done is done.

Options are

1) have the new beds remain in line with the existing beds and be orientated south southeast at 150degrees

2) run less but longer new beds "east west" (technically east/northeast by south southwest).

3) cock the next row of beds 30 degrees to get them facing due south.

Behind the blue set of beds we intend to plant some brambles, halfkasp and some pear and apple trees, elderberry and currants along with landscaping with native nj pollinator plants and flowers.

Eventually a paver patio and walkway will be installed in the front, around the sides and back of the house after the garage is redone. I only mentioned this when considering the look and orientation of the beds in the front yard as well have chairs set up in the front of the house eventually.
