It looks like Dianthus barbatus - Sweet William. Nice find. Have you grown it in the past?

What a pleasant surprise! Thanks peren. I haven’t grown it intentionally in the past though it may have been in a deer resistant wild flower seed mix I got from American Meadows. Last spring/summer I tossed some of the mix in the area where I found the plant. I don’t recall that any Sweet William was in that mix, none have come up before and it doesn’t seem to be in the current mix (just checked). Well, I hope it likes being in a pot, because that’s where it will have to live for a while.

I am trying Sweet William for the first time this season. I’m doing open pot winter/early spring sowing (love it). I don’t think the potted seedlings have even developed true leaves yet.
