I liked this classic door and the transom as well as full side lights will bring in a lot light

I would definitely do a transom, like above. I would opt for no grids though— let more light in and make it less stuffy.

I like the look of a traditional door with light that repeats your windows.

You are right not to want leaded glass.

Here are some good choices for your home. Which direction does your front door face? You will be amazed at how much light comes into your entry from just some glass panes. It will be great! Beautiful home btw.

You have the space for a whole new entry system that would be nice. Consider those options too. Just depends on your budget.

I would love to add a transom but with 8’ ceilings, it won’t work on the inside.

Oh I also added taller topiary style greenery beside front door to distinguish it from landscaping. A pretty curved black iron railing would be great too.

This type railing would be great. Also some carriage lights that are large would further enhance. Sorry, once I get going I can’t stop!

I added larger exterior carriage lights and railings. You might have to add balusters if there is exterior code on this.
