Can we see photos? One of the tree as a whole and then close ups of the stems and buds.

After looking more closely I see it’s toast. It’s just a little one that I found on sale (I tell myself this to feel better lol).

Looks like a fungus maybe? How will it respond to a hard prune? I know I lost the Garnet but wonder about the original?

Yeah, the top portion is gone but the rootstock is still alive. If you choose to cut it back, you could have the start of a shrubby little JM but nothing worth getting excited over.

Does it look like a fungus? If you click on the second picture it shows good.

Just curious for future..and yes that doesn’t excite me LOL, so I will just pull it.

I’ve got three survivors now and I think I’ll keep it at that.
