Batik iris in my garden

The purple and white Iris was given to me by a neighbor two years ago. It was striped. Last year it was AWOL. Not only did it show up last week---it has a bulb mate that is white with purple trim. I think I saw the purpley one with the name "Batik" at an online nursery. Whatever--both are beautiful. The iris to the left of the photo opened today and is a dark purple that I have had for some years.

I also have Batik and it is a wonderful iris, very reliable and increases well for easy dividing amongst friends. In fact, my clump came from my uncle.

I do not know the name of the other one but it is pretty. If I stumble upon an ID, I will return with an update.

They like me! They really like me because the white iris returned. The purple striped ones returned too and brought 3 others with them. I could divide them later in the summer and not worry about killing off all of them.

Love the white one with the purple trim. If you ever decide to offer it for trade, let me know. The only fancy named iris I have is Frivolous, a bright intense yellow, but I have other pretty ones without names.

The white one is not multiplying or I would be out there digging it up already to trade for bright intense yellows.
