If you need storage or display space for dining room supplies, you might look at a bakers rack or a sideboard hutch. I'd use a chest, small table, or demi-lune table with either art or a mirror above. It looks like a main walkway so you don't want a chair or anything too large sticking out away from the wall. Look at small entryway photos to get ideas.

A nice chest with a piece of artwork over it or a small desk with a chair might work. Here are a few ideas from our designs that might just help you with this dilemma.
