This year, our dwarf nectarine has tons of fruit on it. Way more than any other year. There are lots of clusters of fruit packed together, as seen in the attached photos. I'll obviously need to thin them. Should I wait until after the June Drop which I assume is right around the corner?

I shook the branches a bit to facilitate the dropping and a number of smaller ones fell off. I picked off some that seemed dried out or smaller than the rest. Most of them are around 1"-1.25" across.

Would the June Drop only affect those smaller ones that I already shook off? Should I just start thinning them now? What's good spacing for nectarines? I've heard anything from 4-10 inches.
