Another daylily starting to scape

Just did a walk about to check the plantings and Spring Mystique is starting to send up a scape. According to my tags, I had 2 pots of it that I planted. I'm wondering if when I dug it up, I couldn't fit all of it in one pot. Time will tell once they both bloom. The other planting of it has not, so far, started any scapes. I'm surprised as I would have thought by now I would see Clown Parade scapes start. I wonder if it will skip this year...I hope not. And Rocks Cry Out now has 3 scapes one of which is well above the foliage.

Long story, short version....We've had a medical emergency with our cat Marley. We noticed over 2 weeks ago she was bumping into furniture and when getting down from chair or foot stool she kept putting her paw out as if she couldn't determine where the floor was. Noticed it was getting worse so took her to the Animal Emergency Hospital on Monday. They diagnosed her with high blood pressure and detached retina caused by the high blood pressure which has left her nearly blind. They kept her overnight. She is on medication and her blood pressure is back to where it should be and whether she will ever regain full eyesight again is undetermined. She gets around very good after being on the meds for a week and had a check up on Friday with another vet who was recommended to us. Blood pressure is very good and kidney functions are where they should be but again, not sure if Marley will regain full eyesight again. Our challenge was how to get her to take her pill and decided to get some canned cat food and put the tiny pill in a very, very small portion. She usually eats dry food so this was a treat for her. She gobbles it up.

I am happy to see the scapes beginning for you and I know seems to take forever. I am so sorry your cat had this happen to it. I hope Marley is able to regain some vision. We had a couple of vet issues this last week too and had to have our rescue Chihuahua mix euthanized when she could no longer eat. One of the cats, Bella had to have a tumor removed from her ear. We love them and hate so badly to lose one.

I hope Clown Parade is just being slow. It usually puts up scapes a bit later than a lot of them here and I hope that is the case for you too. Sometimes, as you know, they pout when moved but CP usually blooms right on.

Julia and Kay - So sorry to read of health problems your pets are having. I hope Marley will fully recover her eyesight.

Clown Parade here just started putting up scapes a few days ago, I kept looking because it seemed later than usual. Yours will probably show up soon. So sorry about Marley, hope she at least recovers some vision. My orange tabby had another seizure last week. He usually has those when he gets a kidney infection, a problem apparently caused from being neutered too young from the humane society. When I got him at 8 weeks he was already neutered, and some things never get fully mature. Anyway, not a bad seizure I increased his liquid intake and he has not had another, keeping my fingers crossed that takes care of it. He hates going to the vet.

I’m hoping Marley recovers fully. It’s hard to see our pets health decline. I can sympathize, two of my four dogs are dealing with a lot now. Sending some positive vibes Marley’s way.

I know you miss seeing all your beds of daylilies scaping! Just think of the ones you will add and how pretty your beds will be next year. Certainly hoping Marley does improve. With our pets it is always something.

Kay: so sorry to hear that your Chihuahua mix rescue had to be euthanized. Not an easy decision to make. Hope Bella has a good recovery.

Nancy: Sorry to hear about your orange tabby. The emergency hospital had given us gabapentin as it is suppose to be used prior to any vet visits. I'm not on board with using it but all the information I've found says it is safe and the vet we visited on Friday recommends it for keeping Marley calm during transport..

Sherry: Hope your two dogs will be okay. Our furry ones are like our children.

Debra and Kate: thanks for the words of encouragement. I too hope Marley gets her full vision but we are prepared if she doesn't.

Sunny today so will be back outside and getting things done. I'm sure the heat will return this week so best to work while it is a bit cooler.
