Middle photo appears to be a section of the cut open fruit. It looks like it has lobes, and that's one of them. So the fruit's maybe 4"-5" long?

It's obviously immature. I'm not sure whether it's edible or not or what it looks like when ripe. So many tropicals and exotics grow here.

What's the difference between the 2 species Carol? Apparently aquatica doesn't actually grow in water.
