i know its a driveway plant ..

but as an alternative.. why not leave it in the pot until late summer planting time??? ... root growing time???

or just shove it in the ground after showing it the driveway ...

Thanks all. So my order was supposed to come June 2-4, but got here last week. It‘s all good as I understand how crazy it is for businesses getting rolling again. My delivery of topsoil and mulch for the bed I was planning on putting these is scheduled for June 2. So I was just trying to get some plants started. I can certainly leave it there until fall so will probably just do that. The bed where it is going to end up is right beside the deck where it is sitting now, so the sun conditioning should be about right.

Annette, you could dig the hole and sink the pot and plant in the hole. Or, you can just replant it next week if the light is the same. The plant looks fine.

Just a suggestion, Brother Stefan is a sun tolerant hosta in Rawsons Lists. I agree with ken about not shocking by planting it now. I also agree with newhostalady to move the pot gradually into my sun so it adapts to the increasing sunlight little by little. Then, later in summer, find nice sunny place to plant it. When I planted my sun hostas in my sun bed last year, they burned badly because they had come from the shaded nursery into a lot of sun overnight. I had to rig up umbrellas to keep them shaded. This year they are doing fine.
